What happens when Mitzy the Cat becomes a TikTok influencer?
Meet Mitzy the Cat, the famous TikTok CATfluencer, for some hilarious Meowgic as she promotes Kittens Mittens, Manicure Spa Gloves for Cats infused with catnip essential oils to solve the problem of scraggly claws. Don’t miss out on purrrfect discount codes and plenty of laughs along the way!

They are 100% rodent free with essential oils of catnip.
But why?
- In my Upright Citizen’s Brigade class, we were supposed to create a satirical influencer video, and my brain chose a cat who is like the Paris Hilton of all cats. She’s always fabulous, always promoting, and always pouting, plus a little ditzy to be accessible.
- I also love cats and puns. The word that rooted the sketch together became her catchphrase *Meowgic* that tied it all together and then I thought about my last experience at a spa and what would cats really enjoy.
- I wasn’t fully onboard with this character until the costuming, for which I didn’t really have a plan. As a self-proclaimed cat whisperer, I’ve embodied cat physicality before and had a bag of goodwill costume pieces I had scavenged (and disinfected) weeks earlier, some of which felt like fluffy pink cat fur. Then, I opened my burlesque rainbow eyeshadow kit and drew on all the cat features like a kid at halloween, which ended up making me feel like a clown-version of a Paris Hilton as a cat!
And thus, Mitzy the cat was born!

What’s next for Mitzy?
While this video was fun to make, it is useless (by design) but also no real conflict (by mistake). Beyond the visuals and AR filters, I don’t know if it’s really interesting or says something at this point. She was definitely exploratory and lots of fun.
If Mitzy continues, I may add her to the world of Fido the Codependent Companion Animal, who struggles with separation anxiety from his owner and starts a neighborhood pet support group. See – that’s conflict!
Is she human or cat?
The first feedback from my class was to establish immediately that my character is a real cat vs. a cosplay-human who loves cats.
Also as I prepared this reflection, I researched SEO on “Mitzy the cat” and learned that this is already an animation character… so Mitzy may have a rebrand before her new meowgical makeover.
